Things to Do in Chesapeake City MD

Chesapeake City has been voted to be among the 10 best small towns on the Chesapeake Bay. It has also been named as one of the 10 most beautiful towns in the State of Maryland. Our Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of this historic town. There are a variety of activities for everyone in Chesapeake City.

If you want to explore the majesty of the C&D canal, there are boat trips available from Chesapeake City Water Tours (CCWT) and Chesapeake Bay Boat Cruises.  After your boat ride, take the short walk to the C&D Canal Museum. If you are looking for something to do that is a bit more active, take CCWT’s water taxi to the Ben Cardin Recreational Trail. You can bike, hike or run on the 17-mile trail that winds all the way to Delaware City, Delaware. If you are looking for something a bit more organized, visit us for one of Chesapeake City’s two 5k runs (June and January). Another great way to stay active is to try yoga outside in Pell Gardens with Chesapeake Yoga.

If shopping and dining are more your style, Chesapeake City has you covered. Leave the big box stores behind and “shop local.” As far as shopping goes, make sure not to miss the local jewelry store that utilizes an old bank vault to display local products inside the store. We also recommend searching deep on upper Bohemia Avenue for the local candy shop. And be sure not to miss the variety of boutiques and antique shops.

There are several restaurants in Chesapeake City. Most of our guests come in search of the Chesapeake Bay’s famous crab. We recommend you get crabs for takeout, and bring them back to enjoy on our 50- foot long deck that overlooks the C&D Canal.
