The Inn at the Canal features 7 warm and inviting guest rooms, each individually decorated with antiques and each with individual air conditioning and heat controls. The Upper Bay Suite has 3 rooms plus a balcony that affords spectacular views of the city, canal and the basin. Room amenities include:
Most rooms have European soaking tubs with showers. In addition, the Upper Bay Suite has a king sized canopy bed, fireplace, a separate sitting room with abundant reading material, cable CATV, VCR and a DVD. A guest room refrigerator is found in the wet bar area and is stocked with complimentary beverages. Other amenities of the Upper Bay Suite include an iron and ironing board, oversize tub with 4 showerhead body spa, in room coffee & tea, fresh fruit and a generous snack basket. The Upper Bay Suite now has a beautiful balcony with wonderful water views of the ship traffic in the canal and the Corps of Engineers basin. Classical music plays softly in the background in the dining room which is furnished with antique oak and walnut tables and chairs. Breakfast is served from 7-9 daily, 8-10 on weekends and holidays. You may dine with other guests at large tables or by the window at one of the private tables. Mary's great-grandmother's oak china chest stands on one wall, chock full of antique china. Camille and Steve The Inn at the Canal is the only bed and breakfast in Chesapeake City with a conference table large enough to accommodate up to 10 people. It is located in the parlor along with a sitting area full of magazines, books and jigsaw puzzles. The parlor also features an original coal burning fireplace and the original hand painted ceiling from when the home was built in 1868. You don't have to be an overnight guest to reserve the conference room. Please ask for details. The Inn at the Canal's facilities and rooms are the perfect settings for special events such as family reunions, wedding receptions and anniversary celebrations.
